FlipFlop Wines {Review}

"I'm the luckiest vintner around as we combine everything I love in life in an expressive, well-balanced wine that everyone can afford."
- David Georges, Vintner, FlipFlip Wines

I was recently given the opportunity to review FlipFlop wines.
I was looking forward to this for several reasons.
1) I am always up for trying new wines!
2) I found out the FlipFlop Wines gives back to the global community by donating one pair of flip flops to a person in need for each bottle sold. How cool is that?
3) This wine only costs $7 a bottle!

Sign me up! I was given a bottle of 2010 Pinot Grigio and a bottle of 2009 Riesling for the purposes of this review.

Tastes like: Medium bodied with peach, apricot and melon and a smooth finish

I love that every bottle contains an easy to read label showing the level of dry to sweet. This wine is very sweet. If you do not like a sweet wine, this is not for you. I, however, do like a sweet wine so I really enjoyed it! I definitely picked up on the smooth texture and fruity aromas. This wine should be chilled and will nicely compliment a stir-fry, sushi or a pork dish.

Tastes like: Light-bodied and refreshing with tropical citrus, ripe pear and a zesty finish

This was my favorite of the two that we tasted. I thought this would be the case because I definitely enjoy a citrus wine. This wine delivered with the citrus and pear notes that were very easy to recognize. The zesty and clean finish made this a clear winner for me. It was light and refreshing and I may have enjoyed more than one glass! You should serve this wine chilled and it perfectly pairs with pasta dishes, cheeses or a fun dessert like key lime pie! I really, really {love} this wine!

FlipFlop Wines offers a collection of seven wines ranging from Chardonnay and Moscato for whites and Merlot and Pinot Noir for reds. In case you missed it, these wines are only $7 a bottle! You may find out more about ordering {here}.

As mentioned above, FlipFlop Wines gives back in a very big way! They have teamed up with Soles4Souls, a charity that distributes shoes to children in need. "The wines get an extra amount of care knowing that a pair of flip flop sandals will be given to a person in need for each flipflop bottle purchased. Great wine that does good!" says Vintner, David Georges. There are more than 300 million children in the world without shoes, and FlipFlop Wines is helping by putting shoes on more than 100,000 feet!
What an amazing collaboration!

"Two of my favorites: flip flops and wine .. what a pair!"
I couldn't have said it better myself, David.
Of course I also drink mine with a little umbrella! {wink, wink}
