Mary Kay Project Runway Emerald Smoke Look :: Review and Giveaway

Have you been watching the new season of Project Runway on Lifetime? If you have, then you know that the iconic beauty company, Mary Kay, takes center stage in front of a weekly, national audience. A new group of up-and-coming designers finish their runway looks in the Mary Kay Color Design Studio throughout the season. Fans of the hit show will get a behind-the-scenes look and learn how to achieve runway inspired looks at home! Project Runway is one of my favorite shows! I am so excited to be working with Mary Kay and Project Runway to recreate these looks!

In the first episode, Mary Kay Global Makeup Artist Luis Casco showed us how to translate chic, fall-inspired, jewel-toned smoky eyes and bold dark lips from the runway to your way! He calls it the Emerald Smoke Look. How did he do it? Just follow this simple tutorial for step by step instructions. If I can do it, so can you!

EYES :: For high-impact, wearable color, layer three shades of green eye color over a cream eye color base.
  1. Apply Mary Kay Cream Eye Color in Meadow Grass as a base and sweep Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Emerald on the outer halves of eyelids to enhance the color.
  2. Brighten eyes by layering Mary Kay Mineral Eye Color in Lime onto the inner thirds of eyelids.
  3. To add drama, apply Mary Kay Eyeliner in Black along the top and bottom lash lines, blending outwards toward the corners of the eyes.
  4. Generously apply Mary Kay Lash Love Lengthening Mascara in Black to the top and bottom lashes.
LIPS :: Balance bright green smoky eyes with well-defined dark lips.
  1. To perfect your unique lip shape, use Mary Kay Lip Liner in Cappuccino before and after applying lipstick!
  2. Use Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Mystic Plum directly from the tube for best results.
FACE :: When sporting bold eyes and lips, keep the rest of your makeup simple.
  1. Use your fingertips to blend Mary Kay Cream Blush in Cranberry on the apples of cheeks.
I was a bit intimidated by the green, which is odd because green is my favorite color. But I have to say, the colors that Luis chose are gorgeous! After completing this look, I felt awesome! I really liked how it turned out. See below. Are you ready to Get The Look?
