I found this recipe on AllRecipes.com and it had over 2,000 positive reviews. I figured they couldn't be wrong so I gave it a try! Rich, moist, and firm - Frozen Alaskan Sockeye Salmon enjoys a reputation as the reddest of the wild pacific salmon species. Its robust and rich comes from its high oil content. Second to king salmon in omega-3 fatty acids, Sockeye is an excellent heart-healthy food.
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- sprinkle of sesame seeds
- 1 pound salmon (we got ours from Anderson Seafoods)
- In a small bowl, mix the maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, garlic salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon in a shallow glass baking dish, and coat with the maple syrup mixture. Cover the dish, and marinate salmon in the refrigerator 30 minutes, turning once. Sprinkle with a few sesame seeds.
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
- Place the baking dish in the preheated oven, and bake salmon uncovered 20 minutes, or until easily flaked with a fork.

We could see why this recipe had so many positive reviews. The maple created a nice and thick sweet glaze. It was so delicious! The salmon from Anderson Seafoods was perfect. As you can see the portions were quite generous and it looks perfect. It was tender, flaky, and that sweet glaze topped it off perfectly!
