One of my pet peeves as a teacher is students who do not have their pencils sharpened and ready to go. In my classroom, the pencil sharpener is "closed" once the morning announcements start. The reason I have this rule is because most pencil sharpeners are loud and distracting. That is until I came across this product from Classroom Friendly Supplies.
This product claimed to be The Quietest Classroom Pencil Sharpener. I knew I had to try one! It comes in four colors. I chose to try Groovy Green. After testing this baby out, I now see why it is the sharpener that all the teachers are talking about. It will change the way you sharpen pencils in your classroom. I am no longer afraid to allow students to sharpen their pencils during classroom instruction. It is very quiet and it works so well! Here is how it works.
Use the clamp to secure the pencil sharpener to a table. You can use it without the clamp too but I plan on securing mine.
Pull the silver part until it pops out. Then pinch the two black knobs on top to insert the pencil. Let go and your pencil is secure. Turn the crank on the back and the silver part will go in as it sharpens. It is so quiet.
That's it! Now that is one sharp pencil!
Just push the bin forward to empty the pencil shavings. Very easy. Mark my words. All of my fellow teachers are going to be so jealous of my awesome pencil sharpener! The students are going to love using it too!
Would you like to win your own pencil sharpener? One of my lucky readers is going to win a Back To School Prize Package that includes The Quietest Classroom Pencil Sharpener! Come back to my blog between August 2-16 and enter to win!

Seagram's Ginger Ale is the perfectly refreshing way to stay cool this summer. Seagram's has broken the law of flavor physics with a new and improved Seagram's Ginger Ale. It is made with real ginger for a crisp, clean taste and has 25% fewer calories than the competition. The 100% great taste makes it the perfect summer refresher.
Try some Seagram's drink recipes to make your summer really sizzle! The first one I tried was this delicious Strawberry-Basil Mojito. It is perfectly sweet and refreshing!
2 oz. light rum
Seagram's Ginger Ale
3 wedges lime
5 fresh basil leaves
2 sliced strawberries
1 oz. simple syrup
Muddle the basil leaves and add the juice of three lime wedges. Add the rum. Fill the glass with ice. Add sliced strawberries and stir.
Add the simple syrup and top the drink with Seagram's Ginger Ale.
The result is delicious! It is so light, crisp and refreshing. I like that it is not too strong, making it a great choice for a summer drink. The next drink I tried is Ginger Ale Ice.
Ginger Ale Ice
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
12 oz. Seagram's Ginger Ale
Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat. Stir in Seagram's Ginger Ale.
Pour ginger ale mixture into a baking dish. Cover and freeze for about six hours or until completely frozen, stirring after two hours.
Just before serving, break up mixture with a fork until fluffy.
Ginger Ale Ice is perfect for those really hot summer days. The ice makes it cool and crisp. I can really tell that Seagram's Ginger Ale is new and improved! It has bold flavor. Try it on it's own over ice too! Which refreshing drink recipe do you want to try?

Household chores are not fun. Luckily in marriage, you can divide and conquer. My husband and I have been married for 9 years. It's funny because when it comes to household chores we just know what we are expected to do. There are no questions. There is no arguing. It is just simple and yes ... it's almost like dancing.
What I Do: Vacuum/Floors, Laundry, Dust/Wipe Down Counters
What He Does: Outdoor Chores, Dishes, Bathroom
I am such a germ-a-phobe that I can't do the germy chores. Thankfully hubby understands and helps me with those chores. When my husband and I were watching TV a few weeks ago, we met Morty & Lee. I remember looking at my husband and just laughing after the commercial because they were so cute! See for yourself.
I hope we might be like Morty & Lee one day ... with one exception. Unlike Morty, I hope my wonderful hubby is still helping me divide and conquer our household chores. So what happens in your household? Do you divide and conquer the chores?

Outdoor entertaining is one of the great joys of spring and summer. Until, of course, the bugs invade. They just ruin everything! You want to get rid of them. But you also want to do so safely. In place of spray and pesticides, try a cluster of mosquito-repelling potted plants. Grouped together near a seating area on your deck or patio, they make a pretty and lush addition to your outdoor landscape while also protecting you and your guests. Check out One Kings Lane's article Easy Update: Mosquito-Repelling Potagerie for more information about how a trio of lush potted plants will have you saying good-bye to bug spray.
Hey you! It's time. Time to get your pictures out of your phone! What good are they doing in there? Pictures are very personal, social and memorial tools. Printic wants to help you make them real. For you, and the ones that matter to you.
Printic is an app for your smartphone, designed to provide you with the best printing and sharing experience for your pictures. To get started you just download the app for either iPhone or Android.
Once you have the app, you begin by selecting the photos you want. Then you can edit them or leave them as it. You can share your photos with friends and family. When you are ready you order your prints. I received my order in eight days. I found the app easy to use. It did freeze on me once and I had to reload my photos. Other than that, it was intuitive and simple. Watch this video to see how Printic works.
Now for the photos - I love them! They are printed on 3x4 paper and look like Polaroids. They are slightly glossy but not too much. Printics are the perfect size for decorating or sharing.
The quality is great and the colors are vivid. My favorite feature is that perfect size. The space at the bottom makes it easy to write a message (you can do this right in the app too). Printics have that fantastic vintage look that we all love.
Are you ready to try Printic for yourself? One of my lucky readers is going to win 25 prints from Printic!

We had some delicious Fresh Scottish Salmon from Anderson Seafoods to try. My husband decided he wanted to grill it and found this easy and delicious marinade to try. He found the original Soy Sauce and Brown Sugar Marinade recipe on Made from Pinterest.
- 1½ pounds salmon fillets
- lemon pepper to taste
- garlic powder to taste
- salt to taste
- ⅓ cup soy sauce
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- ⅓ cup water
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
Season salmon fillets with lemon pepper, garlic powder, and salt. Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, and vegetable oil until sugar is dissolved. Place fish in a large resealable plastic bag, pour soy sauce mixture over fish, seal, and turn to coat.Marinate for at least 2 hours.
Preheat grill for medium heat. Look at this beautiful Fresh Scottish Salmon.
Place salmon on foil on the preheated grill, and discard marinade. Cook salmon for 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
This marinade gave the salmon delicious flavor. It was tender, flaky and full of flavor. We got our Fresh Scottish Salmon from Anderson Seafoods. They make it so easy to order online and it can be delivered right to your door the very next day! Every single piece of seafood that we receive from Anderson Seafood is out of this world. We paired this recipe with a new Chinese Buffet Green Beans recipe I tried. It was a very nice complimentary side dish. Let me know if you try this marinade!
