  15. As a teacher, I have great memories of wonderful teachers who inspired me. I would say one favorite teacher was a high school teacher who taught me the art of writing for many purposes. Writing allows me to express myself in many ways. I'll always remember the many pointers she taught me.

  23. My 3rd grade teacher was one of my favorites. She loved each of us and took time to get to know us well. After the last day of school my best friend and I helped her clean out her classroom for the summer and she got us McDonald's for lunch.

  44. My favorite teacher was a college English Professor, Dr. Karen Tepfer. She took the time to encourage me in writing, a thing I now dearly love. I didn't have any elementary school teachers that really made an impact on my life. I was one of those students who didn't get in trouble, and didn't stand out for excellence either. So now as a teacher, I try to make each of my students feel noticed and valued by me. I would love for all of them to remember me as the teacher who made them feel important.

  50. My 2nd Grade Teacher was my favorite. She played the piano and we sang songs all day. She did so many "fun" things to enrich our learning; activities that we, as teachers, are not able to do in 2013. I would love to be loved as much as Mrs. Kindt was loved!!!

  54. I had a few of them... but one that really sticks out was my HS history teacher - Mrs. Adams... she made going to class SOOO much fun - you didn't feel like you were 'studying' or 'learning'... just wanted to come back each day to find out what she would do or have you do next!

  61. I loved my second grade teacher. We had a tornado that destroyed our school when I was in second grade and she protected us. We had to move to another school to finish out the school year, in their lunchroom. Sometimes the smell wouldn't be so pleasant and we would have class outside. She was my hero!

  132. When I was around 13 I was angered by the lack of African American History taught in school. One of my teacher's Mrs Rhoades taught me to not limit what I learn to what is taught in class. To go out and seek knowledge on my own. While I still wish more was taught, I have a daily habit of learning new things.

She taught my Daughter a couple years ago in Kindergarten, she taught my Son last year in Kindergarten and I hope she gets my youngest Daughter in 2 years also. She is very caring, attentive and has an awesome sense of humor. My kids adore her. she's just an all around wonderful person and I can't possibly thank her enough for what she has done for my Children.

  151. My favorite teacher was my math teacher all through high school. There were only 6 of us who made it through all 4 years of advanced math, and by the 4th year the teacher was so laid back and fun...we had cookouts monthly and played games every Friday. It was great.

  162. I don't remember too many of my teachers. I remember Mrs. Kickinap and she gave all her students in Kindergarten a glittered star ornament w/a saying on it. I still have that ornament.

  166. Gosh, I loved all of my teachers. One of my favorites was Mrs. York, my first grade teacher. On rainy days she would hand out "surprise packs", which were manila envelopes full of fun activity pages.

  171. My 4th grade teacher Mrs. Hatt went far and beyond her duties as a teacher with me, she did everything possible to get me on track with the rest of the kids(I was falling behind)offering me incentives for try my hardest, etc. I will forever be grateful to her.

  174. I loved the way a teacher ... we called him "Colonel" taught... even though the subject was boring as ever. He started each glass with a joke. I still remember some of those jokes to this day. He made it where you wanted to go to class even though the subject matter was boring.

  184. Mrs. Jackson from 3rd Grade... Me and my family had just moved here from Germany, and while I was still in the process of learning english and writing in english, she was the kindest teacher I've ever had. She helped me out in lots of ways... I'll never forget her.

  197. Tough question b/c I had so many great teachers. If I had to choose, it would be my 9th grade science teacher. He made the class fun and yet was an effective instructor. I never enjoyed chemistry as much since.
